Reduced Fat Taco Dip-3

Who doesn’t love a good old fashioned taco dip to kick off a party??

I know we do at my house, but I could do without all of the unnecessary fat from re-fried beans and sour cream.  Thus, I created this figure friendly dip for all of you who, like me, love to indulge, but don’t appreciate the unwanted extra calories.  This recipe has classic taco dip flavors, but uses black beans, corn, heart-healthy Wholly Guacamole, BL’s light sour cream, reduced fat cheddar cheese, and Wildtree Organic Taco Seasoning.  Enjoy!!

  • 16 oz. BL Lite Sour Cream
  • 2 tbsp. Wildtree Organic Taco Seasoning
  • 3 to 5 dashes Frank's Red hot sauce
  • 1 can 2.25 oz. sliced black olives
  • 1 15 oz. can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 15 oz. can unsalted corn, rinsed and drained
  • 2 7 oz. containers of Wholly Guacamole
  • 1 container fresh salsa (about 14 oz.)
  • 1 1/2 cups reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 10 cherry tomatoes, cut in half

Drain and rinse your beans and corn together in the strainer and toss together.

In a small bowl, combine sour cream, taco seasoning, and hot sauce. Set aside.

Using a 9" pie dish, layer the dip as follows: beans and corn, salsa, guacamole, seasoned sour cream, cheese, olives, green onion, and tomatoes. Serve with tortilla or quinoa chips.
